Foundations

  • Our Teen Center partnered with the Creative Arts Academy of the Quad Cities this summer for a three-day arts workshop! Day One focused on hip hop and salsa dancing, Day Two included make up and fashion design, and Day Three concluded with participants putting on a play. Local artists and teachers led the workshops. This project is supported with Quad City arts Dollar$ funds.
  • The Teen Center received a $5,000 grant from the Moline Foundation. This funding was used to provide art tables, chairs, and much needed storage for the Teen Center Art Room!
  • BGCMV was honored to receive $500 from the Bi State Literacy Council for Power Hour books, incentives, and supplies.
  • BGCMV received a $30,000 grant from Alcoa Foundation to support Power Hour and career programs during the 2016-2017 school year. In addition to operational support, this grant will support career programs by ensuring our Teen members have the proper attire and safety equipment for the job market. This includes business casual clothing for interviews, proper shoes for industrial settings, and tools of the trade to get them started.
  • The Junior Board of Rock Island granted the Moline Club $1,300 toward new kitchen equipment! The Moline Club will use the funding to purchase bowls, pans, electric stovetops, and mixers for the Club Cookers program.
  • Our Davenport and Moline Clubs received $3,000 from Regal Theaters for the Summer Movie Express 2016! Members received free admission and snack packs to see movies such as The Lego Movie, Minions, and Curious George. Regal Theaters is a proud supporter of Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
